BCITO Board

The BCITO Board of Directors is appointed by national association members to ensure a wider representation of the building industry in line with the BCITO's constitution.

The Board of Directors establish and review the BCITO's strategic objectives and performance, approve budgets and business plans. The Board also monitor management and financial viability, manage risk and ensure compliance with statutory and Crown agencies and ensure that the BCITO consult with stakeholders.

Chair - Kevin Sceats

Kevin is a long standing National Councillor for the Association of Wall & Ceiling Industries NZ (AWCINZ) and is a member of the Winstone Wallboards Ltd senior executive team responsible for Research & Development and Industry Liaison. As a business leader, Kevin has been a voice for the interiors industry for many years working to find solutions to long entrenched issues.

Deputy Chair - Peter Robson

Peter has been involved with the BCITO from its inception. Peter is a Managing Director of a long-standing family building business (Wood & Robson) in Palmerston North.

David O'Connell

David is the Managing Director of Trade Union Center Canterbury Ltd and has more than 30 years' experience as a Union official with the NZ Buildings Trades Union, for which he is currently the National Secretary. David has also served on several local and national apprenticeship committees during his time in the industry, where he developed a very strong interest in training young people. David is a past member of the BCITO National Advisory Board and is currently the Vice Chairman of the Joinery Industry Training Board. He is also a member of the Site Safe Board, Building Practitioners Board and Unimed Medical Insurance Board.

Rob Gaimster
Rob is the Chief Executive Officer of the Cement & Concrete Association of New Zealand (CCANZ) and has more than 25 years' experience in the construction industry, during which time he has developed an appreciation for appropriate and effective training. Rob has occupied numerous roles in the past, including President of the UK-based Institute of Concrete Technology (ICT) and National Technical Manager with heavy building materials giant Cemex Materials. Rob is a chartered Civil Engineer and holds an MBA.

Mike King
Mike King is an active member the New Zealand Institute of Building and is responsible for managing nationwide projects with Summerset Management Group. Mike has extensive knowledge of the construction industry, and has 30 years of project management experience in the UK and New Zealand. Mike's commitment to the industry has been acknowledged in his roles as Honorary Treasurer and Past President of the Central Chapter of the New Zealand Institute of Building, as well as Chairman of the National Advisory Group currently reviewing the diploma qualifications for BCITO and InfraTrain.

 

 

 David Fabish

David Fabish owns his own construction company and has been self employed since 1981. For the last three and a half years he has been on the Board of Directors for the Registered Master Builders Federation and currently holds the role of National Vice President. David is the current chair of the RMBF House of the Year management committee and is also a past President of the Taranaki Registered Master Builders Association.
