StudentCard
The BCITO Student ID card is issued by StudentCard. This has replaced the old RealSkills card, and gives you access to great discounts and deals!
What’s so good about StudentCard?
StudentCard has got more discounts and deals for students than any other type of card we could find. For example, you can get discounts such as:
- $5 value meals from Burger King
- $10 movies at Hoyts
- $6.90 pizzas at Dominoes
- 10% off service and repairs at Midas
- Plus much, much more. Check out www.studentcard.co.nz for all the deals on offer.
How do I get one?
If you are a current trainee, you should have received a flyer in the mail. Simply follow the instructions on the flyer; you will need to scratch a panel and enter your unique code online to register.
If you do not have the flyer, please contact StudentCard directly (details below) - say you are a BCITO trainee and they will arrange to setup a card for you.
You can even upload a picture of yourself to appear on your card. Once you have done this, your new card will arrive by mail. If you are a current trainee but haven't received the flyer, please contact StudentCard - their details are below.
How much does it cost?
BCITO is paying for the first year and for all new trainees, but you will need to renew it each year thereafter. StudentCard will contact you when it is time to renew; it usually costs about $20 per year.
What about my old RealSkills card?
Keep it until you get your new StudentCard, then destroy it.
Why do I need a student ID card?
Well apart from getting great deals and discounts, having an official student ID proves that you are studying or undertaking a qualification. The back of the card will also include your NSN from NZQA. Note however that some banks may require additional proof of study to open a student bank account.
