2008 BCITO Outward Bound Scholarships
The BCITO is offering four Outward Bound scholarships (including travel to and from Anakiwa) to BCITO apprentices completing a national certificate in a specialist trade who meet certain criteria.
At the BCITO we are committed to recognising excellence and promoting leadership skills in the building and construction industry.The purpose of these scholarships is to help develop your potential and help you become industry leaders of the future. This programme will give you the chance to develop new skills and realise your potential. It will also aid in motivating you to set career goals.
Applicant requirements;
- Applicants must be registered into a current training agreement with the BCITO
- Candidates should be between 18-26 years old at the time of application (Outward Bound requirement)
- Accepted participants must complete a medical clearance through a GP as part of the Outward Bound enrolment process.
- Accepted participants must have a minimum fitness - to jog 3.2kms in under 25 minutes plus complete a full day of activities
- Applicants must have employer confirmation that leave will be granted for the duration of the programme (21 days - 31/08/08 to 20/09/08 - to be confirmed [TBC])
- Short listed candidates may be required to be part of a telephone interview
- The awarded Outward Bound course is not transferable
- Applications close 31st March 2008
- By submitting an application the applicant has accepted the terms and conditions of the programme

- In making application for this programme - the applicant agrees that the panel may contact the BCITO Training Advisor, the work place assessor, their employer and referees to confirm details of the applicants application.
