Realskills ID card

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a BCITO realskills trainee ID card?

BCITO automatically issues realskills ID cards for new apprentices and trainees - you don't have to do anything! Cards are issued when your training agreement and NZQA number are entered into our database system.

I have signed into a training agreement but I have not recieved my ID card?

There may be a delay in entering your training agreement into the BCITO system or in obtaining your NZQA number. Please contact the BCITO national office to check the progress of your card at national.office@bcito.org.nz.

My card has an expiry date - how do I keep it valid?

BCITO realskills trainee ID cards are only valid until the end of March following the year of issue. So if you got your card in 2007 it will expire 31 March 2008. Likewise if you recieved your card in 2008 then it will expire 31 March 2009.

BCITO will distribute 2008/2009 'valid until' stickers with the BC News at the end of March 2008. To keep your card valid and continue to gain access to the great offers for BCITO trainees you need to apply this sticker to your card.

What are the benefits of having a realskills trainee ID card?

Your BCITO realskills trainee ID card is similar to a student ID card at a polytechnic, school or university. It is proof that you are a BCITO trainee.  It has your NZQA number and BCITO ID number on it which you will need to access your Record of Learning, at off job training and if you call with an enquiry.

Your card also identifies you as a BCITO trainee so you can access hot deals and offers through our industry partners - click here for the latest hot deals.

What should I do if I have lost my card?

If you lose your card you will need to contact us to organise a replacement.  Please contact the BCITO Marketing deparment on (04) 381 6430 or email us at national.office@bcito.org.nz. Replacement cards may incur an administration fee of $10.
