Tiling Apprentice Profile
When I finished school, I wasn’t looking for a career, all I wanted to do was start earning money straight away. Even when I started tiling, wasn’t really thinking about doing my training, until my boss told me about all the opportunities that having a certificate gave him.
One of the hardest parts of the job is laying out a pattern. Some of these can be huge and you have to take your time to think things through. But if you’re a good tiling apprentice you’ll be good at thinking your way around the job and planning.
A good apprentice is fussy - they won’t cut corners, and they won’t settle for shoddy work.
One last thing that a lot of people don’t realise about tiling - you need to be physically fit. If you can’t do a bit of heavy lifting, don’t be a tiler.
