Proprietary Plaster Cladding Systems
The National Certificate in Proprietary Plaster Cladding Systems (what we refer to as PPCS) is the recognised qualification that can lead to a varied and interesting career path in the exterior cladding industry.This qualification will teach you how to apply exterior cladding to manufacturer's specifications - giving you valuable skills in the building and construction sector.
National Certificate in PPCS - how do you achieve it?
There are three levels of training required to achieve the National Certificate in PPCS. These are:
- Level 1 - three introductory compulsory unit standards, covering First Aid, Health and Safety and Scaffolding
- Level 2 - two compulsory unit standards, which test your skills and knowledge of the Proprietary Plaster Cladding System trade tools and materials
- Level 3 - three compulsory unit standards, which test your skills in the application of a proprietary levelling base, finishing coat and installation and finishing of a decorative exterior moulding. There are also three optional unit standards for Fibre Cement and External Insulation Finishing Systems designed to meet specific apprentice training requirements.
The National Certificate in PPCS takes around 24 months to complete. Once all the required unit standards have been achieved you receive a National Certificate in PPCS.
