Qualifications

Health and Safety

In 2008, BCITO started a process to review the Construction Health and Safety and Injury Prevention (HSIP) qualification. After discussion with organisations, we undertook wider industry consultation about health and safety in the construction sector.

From August to November 2008, we travelled the country talking to people in the construction industry about their health and safety policies, practices and training.

The consultation was divided into three main targeted groups:  Trades & Supervisors, Health & Safety Professionals and Employers.

During the next few months, the BCITO will be forming a national advisory group and using the consultation findings to begin the formal process of reviewing our construction-related health and safety unit standards and the HSIP qualification.

Thanks to the contribution of more than 400 individuals, we are pleased to present the final collated results.
