Floor and Wall tiling is predominately on-site work, which means the National Certificate in Floor and Wall Tiling is a "hands on" qualification. This means that performing day to day tasks is the method by which an apprentice becomes competent at a particular skill.

The BCITO also offer the National Certificate in Floor and Wall Tiling (Introductory Skills). This is a level 2 qualification designed for those that would like to explore or check out this industry and receive a qualification for their experience and learning. It is also suitable for those that wish to obtain recognised industry skills and who wish to continue in the industry but work under supervision. Those that achieve the level 2 Introductory Skills qualification may continue into the level 4 qualification.
