Makoura College

Makoura College’s project is a potting shed/shade house for the environmental group at Douglas Park Primary School in Masterton. The design brief was to build a shed, 10 metres x 2 metres with a 2 metre stud height. The shed needed to have a clear polycarbonate roof with shade mesh, and a stone chip floor (over weed mat). The shed required a potting table in the centre that up to twelve children could work on at the same time, and the table needed a lip around the outside to hold potting mix. The team had to ensure the height of the table was suitable for the age group of students who would be using it.
