The Onslow College team made bee hives. Onslow College is keen to promote a green and sustainable image, and one initiative has been to start an extra-curricular bee-keeping group for any interested students. Learning about bee-keeping can have an impact on many different curriculum areas, and any surplus honey produced will go to students who participate in the group, and to the PTA as a means of fund raising. It is hoped that students will be encouraged to become beekeepers outside of school, either as hobbyists or employed as a full time apiarist.
